Expert Profile
Dr. Lee Siew Pien is an Associate Professor at the Department of Special Care, Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She began her journey by obtaining a Diploma in Nursing, followed by a Post Basic Course in Paediatric Nursing at KPJ Healthcare University College. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration from Chiang Mai University, and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Dr. Lee's areas of expertise encompass children and adolescent health, childhood studies, and qualitative research, with a particular focus on ethnographic studies. She also has a profound interest in nursing administration and management. Over her career, she has held several key administrative positions within the university, including Deputy Dean, Head of Department and Clinical Skill Centre, and Marketing Coordinator. Dr. Lee has an impressive publication record in both indexed and non-indexed journals and has secured several national and university grants, including the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). She is an experienced reviewer of book chapters, conference papers, and journal articles. Additionally, she is an active member of the Malaysian Nursing Association. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Lee supervises Master’s and PhD students and is actively involved in flagship activities at the university level. Her unwavering commitment to advancing child and adolescent health through education, research, and dedicated professional service exemplifies her exceptional dedication to excellence in her specialized field.
