He is currently serving the Department of History and Civilization, AHAS KIRKHS at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) since 2019. He has been teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses including History of Malaysia, 1400-1957, Islam in the Malay World, Islam in Modern Southeast Asia, and Introduction to History and Civilization. He holds both bachelor and higher degrees from the IIUM. His main research interests include History of Modern Japan, History of Malaysia, and History of pre-modern Turkey.
