Expert Profile
Assoc Prof Dr Mastura Badzis, an education expert with 30 years’ experience, holds a doctoral degree (Ed. D) in Child Development and Education from the University of Warwick UK. Currently an Associate Professor at IIUM, she previously served as Deputy Dean Students Affairs and Deputy Dean Postgraduate and Responsible Research. Mastura can speak and write Arabic language fluently besides English and her mother tongue (Malay). She has directed the National Child Development Research Centre, been a Visiting Associate Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman in 2020 and a Visiting Foreign Scholar at The University of Tokyo, Japan in 2022. She’s a sought-after keynote speaker, subject matter expert, external advisor, and assessor for academic programs at various higher learning institutions; and columnist contributing to child development, psychology, and education discourse. Additionally, she actively engages in community and professional services at National and International level; and has supervised 24 PhD graduates. Assoc Prof Dr Mastura was also among the recipients of Gold Medal for the project entitled: “SETIAP ANAK PERMATA NEGARA” (2009) and the recipient for another academic awards such as “Top 30 Contributors to IIUM’s Research Performance” (2023), “High Impact Responsible Research Award”(2023) and “Pedagogy Prodigy Award” at the National Children’s Industry Chapter 2023 (NCIC 2023)
