Expert Profile
Dr. Suhaimi started his career as a business development manager with a local construction company in 1999 and had dealt with toll-concessionaire companies in Klang Valley. He left the industry to join International Islamic University Malaysia in February 2000. Since then, he has been teaching and researching into strategy, Islamic management, knowledge management, social entrepreneurship and business ethics. He has been associated with the Islamic perspectives working committees with SIRIM (a national organization in industrial research to fulfil the industry needs by blending new innovations with quality and standards).
1610360374713500Suhaimi’s main research interest is the influence of Tawhidic paradigm on strategic management, business ethics and entrepreneurship issues. He has completed various big external research grants on the topics of his research interest. Firstly, he has been a principal researcher for Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS11-021-0169) entitled "A Contemporary Theory of Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Wealth Creation," and another FRGS research grant (FRGS13-017-0258) (still on-going until 2015) entitled "A Unified Theory of the Firm from Tawhidic Paradigm."
Apart from his role as a principal researcher for two major research grants, he has also served as a co-researcher for FRGS (FRGS13-017-0258) for "Modelling Islamic Knowledge Management (IKM): Theories and Practices in Malaysian Public Universities (MPU)," and as co-research for ERGS (ERGS13-002-0035) entitled "Exploring the Feasibility of Having an Integrated Curriculum for Entrepreneurs Imbued with Legal Knowledge, Skills and Islamic Values."
He has also competed a few research projects with internal research grants, namely "Ethics of Business Ethics Students Effect of Learning Approaches on Academic Performance and Ethical Behaviour (MCRF11-002-0020), "Involvement of Corporate Entities in Waqaf Management: Experiences of Selected Waqaf Institutions (MIRGS13-02-003-0001)," and "Religiousity and Spiritually In Management From Islamic Perpective (KVC Edited Book Programme 2011)(EDW A11-146-0937)." He used to be an associate editor for the International Journal of Economics, Management and Accounting (IJEMA) under Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences. Dr Suhaimi is an Associate Professor. He used to be Head, Department of Business Administration , Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences; used to Deputy Director, Office of Corporate Strategy (OCS) (now is known as Office of Strategy and Institutional Change or OSIC); and used to be Director, Alumni Relations Division, IIUM.
