Expert Profile


Dr. Siti Fatimah Sa’at is an Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her Diploma in Nursing from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), a Master’s Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and a PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Dr. Siti Fatimah has a strong academic and professional interest in maternal health, postnatal wellbeing, community health nursing, nursing and hospitality management, leadership in nursing, and qualitative research. Her work in community health nursing particularly focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, family-centered care, and empowering communities through evidence-based nursing interventions. She is also committed to strengthening primary health care services and enhancing the role of nurses in addressing public health challenges at the community level. She brings with her more than 15 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in the Ministry of Health Malaysia, where she was later promoted to a nurse leader and served in leadership roles for more than six years. Her clinical and administrative background has provided her with extensive exposure to maternal and child health services, community outreach programmed, and the coordination of multidisciplinary healthcare teams. In addition to her clinical career, Dr. Siti Fatimah has nearly eight years of experience as an academician at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, where she also served as a Programme Coordinator. Throughout her academic career, she has been actively involved in curriculum development, student supervision, community engagement projects, and university-level flagship activities. Her combined experience in clinical practice, leadership, community health nursing, and academia reflects her commitment to advancing nursing education, strengthening community-based healthcare services, and developing future nursing leaders.
